SECTION IV. FIREFIGHTING TECHNIQUES

As in any fire, prevent human exposure to fire, smoke, fumes, or products of combustion. Evacuate non-essential personnel from the fire area. Fire fighters should wear full-face, self-contained breathing apparatus and impervious protective clothing.
Use standard fire fighting techniques to extinguish fires involving this material: use water spray, dry chemicals or carbon dioxide.

SECTION V. TOXICOLOGY

Tapeworks has not conducted toxicological testing with this material.

SECTION VI. HUMAN HEALTH HAZARDS

EYE CONTACT: May cause mild eye irritation.
SKIN CONTACT: May cause mild skin irritation in some users.
INHALATION: None known.
INGESTION: None known.
ACUTE EFFECTS OF EXPOSURE: None known.
CHRONIC EFFECTS OF EXPOSURE: None known

There are no data available, which address medical conditions that are generally recognized as being aggravated by exposure to this product.
This material contains crystalline silica, which has been classified by the International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC) as carcinogenic to humans (Group 1) and by the National Toxicology Program (NTP) as being reasonably anticipated to cause cancer. Chronic inhalation may also lead to delayed lung injury (silicosis).
However, due to the physical nature of this material, inhalation of silica dust is not anticipated.
This product contains methyl polysiloxane, which can generate formaldehyde vapors when exposed to temperatures exceeding 302 degrees F (150 degrees C) in the presence of air. Formaldehyde is a potential cancer hazard, causes irritation and sensitization of the skin and respiratory system, causes eye and throat irritation, and is acutely toxic. Safe conditions of use can be ensured by monitoring and controlling vapor concentrations in accordance with 29 CFR 1910.1048.

SECTION VII. FIRST AID MEASURES

EYE CONTACT: In case of contact, flush eyes well with water for 15 minutes. Obtain medical attention if irritation occurs.
SKIN CONTACT: Skin contact is part of the intended use of this product. If skin irritation occurs, remove excess material from the skin with a waterless skin cleaner. Flush skin with plenty of water and wash well with water and soap. Obtain medical attention if irritation persists.
INGESTION: Rinse mouth with water several times.
INHALATION: Not expected.

SECTION VIII. INDUSTRIAL HYGIENE

ENGINEERING CONTROLS: When the need for engineering controls is indicated by the conditions under which the product is used, one or more of the following techniques may be selected to limit employee exposure: general ventilation, local exhaust ventilation, enclosure or confinement of the operation, and/or process isolation with remote control operation.

INGESTION: Open containers of food and beverages should be kept away from areas where the product is used or stored. Eating, drinking, smoking, and application of cosmetics should be prohibited in areas where the product is being used. Before eating or smoking, hands and face should be washed to remove residual contamination.

EYE CONTACT: As a standard practice, eye contact should be avoided through the use of safety glasses with side shields, goggles or a face shield, depending on the physical characteristics, conditions of use, and quantity of the product involved.

INHALATION: If the product is used under conditions, which generate airborne contamination, these processing operations should carried out in a well ventilated areas, or in enclosed areas equipped with local exhaust ventilation. It adequate ventilation is not available, employees should be provided with appropriate, approved, air-purifying respirators selected in accordance with NIOSH guidelines.

EXPOSURE LIMITS: No exposure limit has been established for this material. Exposure limits for its hazardous components, if any are listed in Section IA on page one.

SECTION IX. CHEMICAL REACTIVITY

Relatively non-reactive.

SECTION X. STABILITY

Stable at ambient temperatures and atmospheric pressure.
HAZARDOUS/THERMAL DECOMPOSITION PRODUCTS: SiO2, CO, CO2, Formaldehyde, and various hydrocarbon fragments.

SECTION XI. ACCIDENTAL RELEASE MEASURES

Make sure all personnel involved in the spill cleanup follow good industrial hygiene practices (refer to SECTION VIII: INDUSTRIAL HYGIENE).
(See SECTION XIV: DISPOSAL OF UNUSED MATERIAL)
IN CASE OF A SPILL EMERGENCY, DAY OR NIGHT, CALL CHEMTREC (1-800-424-9300).
Wipe, scrape or soak up in an inert material and put in a container for disposal.
Wash walking surfaces with detergent and water to reduce slipping hazard.
Wear proper protective equipment as specified in the protective equipment section.

SECTION XII. COROSITIVITY TO MATERIALS OF CONSTRUCTION

Non-corrosive to materials commonly used in the construction of process equipment, storage and
shipping containers.

SECTION XIII. STORAGE REQUIREMENTS

Store in a cool, dry, well-ventilated area. Product will dry out if not stored in an airtight container.
Exercise due caution to prevent damage to the container.

SECTION XIV. DISPOSAL OF UNUSED MATERIAL

Material that cannot be used or chemically reprocessed should be disposed of at an approved facility in accordance with any applicable regulations under the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA). Note: State and local regulations may be more stringent than those under RCRA.

SECTION XV. DISPOSAL OF CONTAINER

Dispose of empty containers according to any applicable regulations under the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA). Note: State and local regulations may be more stringent than those under RCRA.

SECTION XVI. REGULATORY INFORMATION

TSCA: This material or its components are listed on the TSCA Chemical Substance Inventory and is in compliance with all applicable rules and orders. One or more of the components may be exempt from listing on the TSCA Inventory.
